Consumer research & awards

Connect the brief, the process and the result.

A research commission or awards programme involves more than a final report. OOB Consulting configures Salesforce and business applications to connect client relationships, submissions, operational follow-up and approved deliverables, with clear responsibilities from the first enquiry to the next study or edition.

Business workflows

From client demand to approved delivery.

The commercial brief, product details, research status and approved report may sit in different tools. Connect them to the right client and project so teams can see what is agreed, what is missing and what can be released. Keep study delivery and awards participation as distinct workflows where their rules differ.

01

Brand relationships and study proposals

Connect brand owners, agencies, decision-makers and contracting entities. Record the research question, intended markets, proposed deliverables, quotation and agreed scope. Keep revisions and approvals with the opportunity, then carry the accepted brief into delivery without asking the client to repeat it.

02

Editions, categories and product entries

Structure awards records by programme, country, edition and category. Link each entry to its brand and product, with the required documents, eligibility checks and deadlines defined by your team. Track missing information and revisions while keeping previous editions separate from current participation.

03

Client submissions and document exchange

Provide an authenticated place for authorised brand or agency contacts to submit information, upload agreed documents and answer clarification requests. Show their own project or entry status and approved deliverables. Route submissions to the responsible team without exposing other participants or internal evaluations.

04

Study and fieldwork coordination

Organise responsibilities, research-provider handovers, milestones and outstanding dependencies. Where product testing is involved, track sample requests, dispatch and receipt against the study. Bring agreed progress updates into the project record; research design, recruitment and fieldwork methods remain with the specialists responsible for them.

05

Connected research data and source records

Assess the exports or APIs available in your survey and research tools. Match study, product and edition identifiers; record source, import date and version, and reconcile incomplete or duplicate updates. Bring across the approved results or summaries the business needs, with access and retention defined before importing identifiable respondent data.

06

Results approval and report delivery

Keep draft, reviewed and approved outputs distinct. Record the responsible reviewers, decisions and approved report version, then release it to the intended recipients at the agreed time. For awards, retain the authorised outcome and supporting references; CRM workflow tracks approval and publication, while the research or judging process determines the result.

07

Award assets and usage rights

Link approved award assets and usage guidance to the entitled brand or product. Track the territory, validity period, agreement and any release conditions your programme requires. Keep requests for artwork approval, expiry reminders and next-edition follow-up with the commercial relationship.

08

Fees, invoicing and payment follow-up

Keep agreed study fees, participation charges or usage-rights fees distinct, where they apply to your business. Connect the responsible billing entity, purchase-order reference and invoice status to the relevant project or entry. Reconcile payment updates from finance and make outstanding actions visible without duplicating the accounting ledger.

09

Programme and commercial reporting

Review opportunities, confirmed studies, entry completeness, overdue approvals, report delivery and upcoming renewals by market, programme or responsible team. Keep operational progress separate from research findings. Agree the definitions behind revenue, participation and completion measures before comparing editions or countries.

How we approach it

Support the process. Preserve the research decisions.

Start with a representative study or awards edition and map its records, responsibilities and approval rules. Configure the commercial and operational workflow around the research tools your teams rely on. Validate access, data transfers and report release before extending to further countries or programmes.

How we work

Questions to consider

Does this replace our survey or research platform?

Not necessarily. Salesforce can organise clients, briefs, participation and delivery while specialist platforms continue to collect and analyse responses. We assess which data should be linked or imported and whether the available licences, exports and APIs support the agreed workflow.

Can programmes differ by country or edition?

Yes. We can define separate categories, required information, dates, approval steps and commercial arrangements while retaining shared brand relationships. Historic entries stay attached to their original edition, so a renewed participation does not overwrite the previous record.

Do we need to copy individual consumer responses into Salesforce?

Only if there is a defined need and an agreed basis for doing so. Often the commercial workflow needs a study status, approved summary or report reference rather than identifiable responses. We define the minimum fields, permissions, retention and deletion process with your team before connecting data.

Can an approval workflow decide award winners?

The workflow can record authorised decisions, required reviews and release conditions. Research methodology, scoring rules and judging remain the responsibility of the designated specialists. We separate those decisions from commercial fees and publication tasks rather than inferring a result from payment or participation.

What should we prepare for a first discussion?

Bring an anonymised example of a study or edition: the client brief, entry or project stages, required documents, approvals and final deliverables. List the research and finance tools involved and where information is re-entered. This helps define a practical first scope without sharing confidential respondent data.
