Media & advertising

Keep the brief, the deal and the delivery connected.

An advertiser’s brief moves between sales, operations and finance. OOB Consulting configures Salesforce and connected applications so your teams can follow the same client, commercial terms and next steps as that work moves forward.

Business workflows

From the client relationship to commercial reporting.

A promising opportunity can lose its context when the approved scope stays in a spreadsheet, the latest quote lives in a message thread and delivery updates sit elsewhere. Start by deciding which information each team needs and which system owns it.

01

Advertisers, agencies and opportunities

Connect the advertiser, agency, decision-makers and contracting entity. Give sales teams a consistent way to record the brief, proposed scope, expected dates and next action.

02

Media products and rate cards

Organise the formats, locations, durations and commercial units your team sells. Keep standard rates, negotiated prices and validity dates together; where availability lives in a booking platform, identify that source before promising inventory.

03

Quotes and commercial documents

Build documents from approved Salesforce data, with the right legal entity, currency, discounts and branding. Define who can change commercial terms and how a revised document is approved.

04

Bookings and campaign changes

Turn approved commercial terms into a record of what was booked, for whom and for which dates. Track amendments, cancellations and their approval so sales and operations work from the same accepted version.

05

Creative approvals and delivery handover

Connect the brief to creative-file references, client approval, material deadlines and responsible people. Track missing assets and outstanding actions; use delivery confirmations or proof-of-posting references when relevant to the media format.

06

Billing handover and payment visibility

Pass approved customer, entity, order and billing details to finance. Bring back invoice references and payment status where the accounting system supports it, with agreed reconciliation rules. Keep financial posting in the system responsible for it.

07

Reports that use agreed definitions

Give managers useful views of pipeline, won business and follow-up by team, entity or market. Keep booked sales, invoiced amounts and cash received distinct, and reconcile any figures imported from finance.

08

Reliable imports and connected systems

Map customer and commercial data between Salesforce and the tools your teams already use. Agree ownership, matching rules, refresh frequency and error handling before building imports or automated data flows.

09

Permissions and ongoing improvement

Set access around responsibilities and entity boundaries. Test reporting, documents and workflows with the people who use them, then keep the configuration useful as your commercial processes change.

How we approach it

Connect the commercial workflow to the tools that run your media.

Salesforce can hold the customer and commercial context while specialist platforms continue managing media buying, placements or delivery. Any connection to an ad server or buying platform needs its own API, access and data assessment. The design should make clear which system is responsible for each activity.

How we work

Questions to consider

Can this improve our existing Salesforce setup?

Yes. We can review the current data model, permissions, documents, reporting and integrations, then agree a focused improvement plan. A new implementation is only one possible starting point.

Can different entities use different currencies and documents?

We review how each entity sells and reports before configuring currencies, document templates, discounts and access. Accounting rules and reporting definitions must be agreed with your finance team.

Will this replace our advertising platforms?

The starting scope is customer relationships and commercial operations. Media buying and delivery can remain in their specialist systems. An integration is assessed separately against the workflow, available interfaces and required permissions.

What should we bring to a first discussion?

Bring an example of how a brief becomes a quote, how a won deal reaches operations, and which reports managers use. A list of systems and a description of recurring handover problems help us identify a useful first scope.
